Woot...I passed the California bar. I took the attorney's oath yesterday so I should have a bar number in about a week or two. This means I'm officially unemployed because I'm looking for work now to pay off my enormous debt from law school.

Highlights of the past 4 months [11 Nov 2009|10:05am]
1. Took the bar exam. (Not sure how I did, but the more I think about it, the worse I think I did.)
2. Went to Hawaii for a week and got sun burned, but still had fun.
3. Got into a car accident...the other person ran a red light and hit my car. =[
4. Bought a new beagle...he's cute but a pain in the ass. Girls love him so I guess I'll keep him. =]
5. Got a new car.
6. Turned 35...I'm old.
7. Currently awaiting bar results which should come in 9 days.

That concludes my life for the last 4 months in a nutshell. I can elaborate if people want me too, but are you really that interested in my life? It's my life and I'm not that interested in it. =]

To my stalkers, if I still have any, I'm still studying for the bar and that's all I'm doing. I will try to be more exciting after that is done.

Don't really have much to say. It's official...I have another degree (a J.D.) and now I'm spending all my time learning stuff I should have learned in my first year of law school. Bar exam coming up in less than 2 months and if I pass I'll be a real lawyer.

My apologies to the attorney whose girlfriend is charged with driving under the influence. I suspect you wanted to get the charges dropped by winning today's motion. Then she would be so grateful and do all the freaky stuff she normally doesn't do for you unless it's your birthday. You just had the misfortune of running into my A game today. Better luck next time.

perfect on the outside [21 Mar 2009|12:12am]
Handled two more motions to suppress and won both.
Didn't deserve to win the second one, but I did.
Will improve and do better next time...need to stay perfect.

I'm tired and I brought some work home with me because I don't want to feel unprepared like I did last time. This litigation stuff is a lot of work. =[

I need an outlet for my stress and frustration. I had been writing earlier, but I've run out of ideas. I guess I could start proofreading and editing my stories. But no strings attached sex with a hot chick would work just as well, maybe even better.

There are some really fucked up douche bags out in the world.
(I know I and others say I'm one, but I minor leagues compared to them.)

Edit: Fucked up douche bag pleaded guilty and will have to register as a sex offender. 1 down, countless more to go.

Had my first real legal pvp (traffic court does not count!) today and I won.
I am pleased, but I have to be better next time.

So I saw a pic of some people I went to grammar school with. Yay for facebook? Time has not been kind to them. I look better at 34 than they did at 30. I can't stop smirking when I think about it. I'm a bad person, but it's ok because I'm hot.

The first black US President...blah blah blah...change...blah blah blah...
Thank God all this inauguration crap is done with and we can go back to something truly meaningful...my usual television programming.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire today. It was good movie if you're into those movies, and I don't mean foreign. (I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet.) I just kept wanting either the girl or the guy to die, but not both of them. It's sadder that way.

I've been kinda busy recently...moved back to the Fairfield, California house from Michigan a few days before Christmas; Christmas; went to Vegas; New Years; moved to my sister's place in Mountain View, California; and started my law clerk thing. So if you're stalking me, you should be all caught up now.

It was cold outside, freezing actually. It was warm inside, where the party was. Like any party there was drinking and holiday cheer, but it was less miserable outside. He sat motionless on the bench, losing feeling in his cheeks and ears as the cigarette burned in his hand while watching the river that moved just slow enough so the water wouldn’t freeze. He was alone until she came.

“I was wondering where you ran off to,” she said as she approached him, pulling her coat tighter around her body as if that would keep the cold out. He remained motionless, still staring at the river. “People are starting to ask about you,” she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her cheek against his.

“Sorry. Tell them I went out for a smoke.”

They remained that way as if the cold had frozen them in place until she said, “Ok.” She kissed him on the cheek and began to head inside. “I thought you quit.”

“So did I,” he replied as he closed his eyes and flicked the cigarette away.

Great. Now I have something to look forward too when I graduate...my salary getting tax to nothing. And yeah, I did plan on being in the $200,000+ income bracket. Why the fuck else would anyone want to go through the hell of law school? For the sheer joy of owing enough in student loans that you could buy a couple 3 or 4 bedroom houses, depending on the market? And even then that would be better because if you really needed money, you could sell the property. All I'm left with is "priceless" knowledge, a piece of paper, and $100,000+ in debt which you can't even get rid of through bankruptcy. And all this because people wanted "change." As if anyone who received over $100 million dollars from Wall Street will dramatically change the status quo. If you want real change, try changing the Constitution and getting rid of the damn electoral college so my vote might mean something.

So last summer, I wrote about a sunflower. (Link here.) I still walk by that spot to get to class, looking and hoping, but still no sunflower. There's a lesson to be learned from this experience.

Every winter break, I went back home with plans to take my dog to see the snow because he had never seen the snow before. I think he would have liked the snow because he doesn't like hot weather very much. Every spring break, I went back home with plans to take my dog to see a forest because all he had known was the city and he deserved to roam somewhere natural like a real hound. Every summer break, I went back home with plants to take my dog to the beach because he had never experienced the ocean before. It would have been fun watching him dig in the sand.

But when I go home this summer break, I won't have any plans because I don't have a dog anymore. There's a lesson to be learned from this experience too, but right now, I don't really care.
